Is It Really Better To Have Loved?

You know that saying - it's better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all.  I'm pretty sure this doesn't apply to design love.  I've fallen head over heels in love!  I'm in big old fat can't-stop-dreaming-about-it love........with a mirror.

It's so obviously not just any mirror.  It's the Angelique Mirror from ZGallerie.  It's perfect in every way! It would look fabulous in my entry foyer which is in desperate need of some serious lovin'.  Alas, it's priced at $349 plus tax, delivery and a "special handling" charge.  It's out of my range :(  I've looked for alternates everywhere, but nothing I've found will do!  That's how you know it's true love right?!

I've stopped looking for alternates, and now I'm in the mourning phase ;)   So, I'm going to make a batch of cake mix chocolate chip cookies and watch Vampire Diaries (don't judge me) to cheer up a little.  But first, I'm going to run it out, so that I don't feel too bad about eating the cookies :)  That should get my mind off of that beautiful mirror........for awhile right?

So, do you have any lost loves you'd like to share.  Ok, so maybe it's not exactly "lost" if you never actually had it to begin with, but it's basically the same thing right?  If you know where I can find a similar mirror at a better price, I'll be your best friend!   :)

  1. Try searching for "baroque mirror" on Amazon or Google. Like, for instance, this one. Even if it's not perfect yet, spray painting it with Krylon Fusion for Plastic in black will turn it right side up!

  2. Yes, I know the feeling! A headboard, a mirror, a chest, a piece of artwork...I have several "loves" that are out of my price range. Hope you find your mirror!

  3. Sarah's suggesting is my best guess at finding a budget friendly version...when in doubt, spray paint it!!! (c: But it is always such a *bummer* when you find something awesome and can't get it out of your head )c: Good luck on the hunt!

  4. Oh I love that mirror -- reminds me of the Queen's in Snow White :)

I adore you --- there I said it. You totally had me at "Vampire Diaries"! I will be more than happy to sit and watch while everyone else pretends not to judge hahaah I am sooo ready for April 7th to get here -- the reruns are good for eye-candy but I need some new things to happen!

  6. That really is a fabulous mirror. So, it doesn't have the same glam factor and isn't as big, but you could put a mirror in this $30 frame from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00091967

Keep an eye on it and maybe it will go on sale soon!

  7. I have lost so many lovelies bc I am cheap. It is so hard for me to pay $$$ for something. Ahhh...I lost my twin chairs b/c I just couldn't see myself spending the money on them. I completely know where you are coming from. Ohh...the blog LOOKS FABULOUS!

    Cheers~

  8. I just saw a white mirror that was very close to this version at my TJMaxx last week. I even picked up and looked at it for a while before I put it back! Have you checked TJMaxx, Marshalls or Ross in your area?
