Weekend Fun

It's Tuesday night but I just had to share my weekend festivities with you!  Remember on Friday when I told you I was diving in to this book?

Design*Sponge at Home [Book]

Well, I read it cover to cover.  I was in the car for 8 hours on Friday, so I needed something to keep me entertained.

Those are my car riding shoes - otherwise known as my slippers.

All I have to say is for those of you who said you were hoping to get a copy of that book for Christmas I hope Santa delivers your presents early this year!  The book is absolutely amazing.  I bought the book on Thursday night because I knew I'd be in the car all day Friday.  The hubs and I took a little trip up to Annapolis, MD to visit some very good friends of ours.  We left the kids with family, and we took a trip just the two of us.  Yep, that's right we had our first kid-free weekend in over 7 years!  Oh my gosh was it fun!  I mean I love love love my kids, but I love love love my hub too!  Having some time to just be a girl and a boy in love vs. a mom and a dad in love was really special.  We had a blast!

Why is he wearing a vest inside?  Also, the proof is in the pictures.  Girlfriend needs to grow those bangs out!

It was so great to see our friends.  We met them when we lived in Pittsburgh, and we've stayed in touch ever since.  They are the sweetest couple.  I like to think of them as our Pittsburgh souvenirs.

Annapolis is gorgeous!  It was boat show weekend, and the weather was perfect!  I had such a great time that I didn't even think about getting my camera out to take pics.  Or maybe it was because I spent most of Saturday recovering from the night before.  I'll never tell.  ;)

Saturday, late afternoon, after a full day of shopping and eating in downtown we had a little dance party USA action in our friend's kitchen, which is gorgeous by the way!  The pictures don't do the kitchen justice or the dancing for that matter.  ;)

Yes, that is my hub and that is my friend B.  You gotta love the hat and the sunglasses.  Love. that. girl!   The smart ones are always behind the camera.  ;)  Apparently by then I was feeling good enough to take pics but not quite in dance mode just yet.

All I have to say is  ----play that funky music white boy.  ;)  I heart that man.  Having friends that you can just be yourself with, act a fool with, dance around the kitchen with, and never be judged is one of the very best things in the world.  We are so blessed to have such awesome friends in our lives!

I have no doubt that one of the reasons we moved to Pittsburgh was because we needed to meet M and B (I'm protecting the innocent here).  We don't get to see them all the time anymore, but when we do get together it's like no time has passed at all - like we never skipped a beat!

Here is to at home dance parties, and the crazy fools that make them so much fun!

I thought you deserved a good laugh today.  We'll get on to the normal decor talk tomorrow.  How was your weekend?  Anyone busting any moves in the kitchen lately?

  3. I'm so excited to get my hands on the book. I had emailed my hubby yesterday about another design book to add to my wish list, and he said he had a note that said red cover, bonney - but he wasn't sure what that meant. I said Design Sponge Book!
Anywho, we've only been to Annapolis once, but I LOVED that town. It's pretty and well kept and has so much history - not to mention great bars and restaurants. Looks like you enjoyed yourselves too!
