Never mind the suitcase in the background. It was unpack bags from California trip or prime my $7 globe. Clearly my priorities are straight. I used the greatest but stinkiest primer known to man - Zinnser. I gave it 2 very light coats.
| I didn't even protect the carpet. I'm just a rebel like that. ;) |
Then the primer dried and this little globe sat for weeks waiting to be covered in chalkboard paint. After Monday's post I was inspired to actually get something done. Finishing this project seemed like the perfect place to start. So, I gave it 2 coats of chalkboard paint and then used some antique gold rub n buff on the wooden stand.
I'm using it on my mantel that, yes, I've already decorated for Valentine's Day. I couldn't help myself it looked so bare after Christmas. It was screaming for some love. Ha -get it? Anyhow, I'll show you the love fest on my mantel tomorrow.
Have any of you painted any globes with chalkboard paint lately? Am I the only person in the mood for love already? I don't usually decorate for Valentine's Day this early, but I was sort of inspired. More on that tomorrow. Happy Wednesday!
