Lost Mojo & Spring Fever

You would think after having a glorious, long girls weekend by the pool under the wonderfully hot sun of Palm Springs that I would come home feeling refreshed and ready to tackle lots of projects.  Well, it's raining today.  It's raining, it's pouring; and I just feel like snoring.  Or rather I feel like curling up on my couch to finish reading this book.

I resisted the bandwagon as long as I could, but you know what they say about curiosity right?  You probably caught a glimpse of the first book - The Hunger Games - in yesterday's post.  I bought the book to read on the plane and finished it in three days.  I bought the second at the airport for my return flight, and I've been devouring it almost as fast as the first.

I'm up to my eyeballs in unfinished projects right now.  I just can't seem to find my mojo.  Have you seen it anywhere?  Apparently I lost it in the air somewhere between Kentucky and California?  Or maybe I left it out by the pool?  The warm weekend weather and the relatively mild winter we've had here in Kentucky has made me yearn for spring.  I'm ready!  Who's with me?!  Maybe these pins will help me find my mojo or at the very least help to put a little spring in my step.

A watering can as a vase!  Once again - leave it to Martha!

I'm all about butterflies for spring this year!

Spray paint + soup cans = cuteness!

Do you ever just feel completely unmotivated?  What inspires you to get moving again?  Instead of picturing me in my sweat pants making a permanent indention in my couch, think of me like this today.

  2. I could have written this post today! I will look for your mojo if you search for mine. So many loose ends and still feel like I am on vacation mode. Apparently we thought we were much younger than we are and stayed up so darn late that I am still sleep deprived. We'll get it back, sister! :)

  3. Wow I know exactly what you mean! I think there must be a MOJO party going on somewhere because mine has gone missing as well. Or maybe it's just a case of biting off more than I can chew. What made me think I needed to do an entire house makeover plus "pantry" culling in less than 3 months? OH yeah, graduation! What was I THINKING!?!?! LOL

Now back to the kitchen and laundry! :)

  4. Reading what others are up to and seeing that there are so many possibilities for projects that still need to be undertaken and fantastic end-results to projects that I have already done gives me inspiration. But we all have days like this - you are sure to bounce back tomorrow. Maybe you needed a longer break :)

  5. I'm with you on the curling up with a good book idea. It's snowing today in Seattle (!) and I am longing for the sun...any sun.

  6. I resisted the books until recently too, I usually run away from what everyone else loves because I end up disappointed but I loved the books and read them all within a week. Sometimes I feel in order to get your mojo back you need to take a break and let it just come back to ya! Happy reading I say!

  7. My hubby just finished the first book and is looking forward to the second one. I think I have too much imagination for books like that so I just read fluffy stuff instead. ;) As for mojo, I didn't have much in January and now I finally found it. I say make the indent on the couch today, read your book and enjoy the day!

  8. I am right there with you sister! Definitely in "slug" mode lately and trying to get some motivation too. It is snowing right now here in Oregon which is really not jiving with my craving for Spring! Ugh...I say just give into it and keep on reading! :-)

  9. Oh Carmel...just don't plan on doing a thing till you finish that series. I got sucked into it a couple months ago, and all but the most necessary daily tasks completely stopped for two blissful weeks while I was pouring over every delicious page. I'm telling you, the second you finish book two you're going to be running to grab the third. Those books are the best things to happen to me since Twilight. (yes I said it...and I'm not ashamed.) ;)

  10. Wow...My mojo has been gone & I got it back after seeing your blog & a few others! Yeah, it rained in Kentucky while I was in the basement sanding, spackling & painting trim for our newly tiled laundry room! And then, while I was in the mood, I sanded my 2 wooden stools to repaint! But I say enjoy your book (s)!!! Your mojo WILL return!!

  11. As long as you are reading those books, you'll get nothing accomplished! The 3rd one has been sitting in my room for 2 months now waiting for me to start it! I really want read it, but I know that as soon as I give in, I'll be consumed for 2 days straight with Katniss! Glad you are enjoying them...can't wait to the movie to come out this month!

  13. Sometimes you just need a pajama day. Enjoy the couch, books and some coffee. You will come back and the projects will still be there.
