Before
After
This is the Sunbrella Bordered Seagrass Rug. I've had it in here for a couple weeks now, and I'm very happy with the look, feel, and quality. It's so great for hiding crumbs (especially with my dark floors).
I had no idea how hard it could be to find a 6' x 9' rug, but Ballard sells that size in lots of different styles.
I love the way the chairs stand out against this rug. Speaking of which, many of you wanted me to share how the stenciled chairs would hold up to lots of use. They're doing great - kid tested - mother approved. ;)
The new rug works well with the rug I already had (from Lowes) in front of the kitchen sink.
* This was not a sponsored post. However, if Ballard Designs wants to sponsor Our Fifth House I'd be thrilled! ;)

It's perfect! I've been searching for a 6x9 rug also and you're right, they are hard to find. Great score and GO CATS!
ReplyDeletei love it- it is so perfect! i think we had a 6x9 in our last house but it was dash & albert and cotton.
ReplyDeleteI was JUST looking at that rug! I'm thinking about doing the one without the border. I figured it would break up a little of the white in my kitchen. You know with the newly painted table and all;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend girlfriend! I will be doing a little painting this weekend thanks to Kristen F. Davis!

Happy weekend Carmel! The black edge looks perfect with the black trim on your curtains. I'm pinning your kitchen because I think your backsplash is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love how the color really goes with your chairs, it helps tie the room together. We had such a hard time finding a rug for our dining room (where we eat most of our meals), and now that we have one, we totally love it. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the new rug! It looks perfect there. I love your floors too. Are they black or just a really dark stain? Watching the Cats play and checking out blogs tonight...Go Cats!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You must be thrilled. So great to know that ballard is the go-to place for this size.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen and dining room are absolutely gorgeous....those stenciled chairs are so darling!!! I have no idea how I missed a fabulous reveal like this one, but I'm so glad I'm not missing out anymore!!! I'm especially intrigued by the crumb-hiding rug. Genius. (c:
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Kata - yes the floor is black bamboo.
ReplyDeleteBallard Designs items are amazing. This looks perfect against your floor and table/chairs and sets off the upholstery beautifully and the functionality of it adds to the overall great choice.
ReplyDeletewhew -- I've got so much to catch up on!
ReplyDelete1. You know I love the sprayed yellow bottles!
2. The corner nook with the horse pillow and red throw is perfecto!
3. Love that rug in your kitchen, the trim perfectly ties your drapes! Question: how is it having a rug under you kitchen table? How's the clean up? I have to sweep under mine everyday.
4. I have that same chandy...sprayed it black a few yrs ago, would love to spray it a bright color now. Can't wait to see what you're doing with the pink one!
oh -- and lastly -- I'm loving red and pink together right now.
Cassie out.
The clean-up is easier with the rug in place. It hides crumbs quite nicely until I'm ready to pull the vacuum cleaner out.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic. Completes the space.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very good tip especially to those new to the blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteBrief but very precise information… Appreciate
