Here's what I've got going on over on the potting bench.
See that little furry orange dude hanging out with us?
He totally matches. ;)
And here's the whole shebang.
And to think when we moved in just over 2 1/2 years ago this whole area was a mud/gravel pit with a sidewalk in the middle. You can find all the deets on how we created this outdoor dining area here. And here's how the potting bench looked last fall.
On a random side note - I'm still in the learning phase when it comes to night photography. I took these photos at around 7 pm last night, and they didn't come out great. I wanted to capture what a fall night looks like with the patio lit up but I had a hard time playing with the settings to get what I wanted. If you have any tips I'd be so thankful!

i want to come gather with you! looks so cozy and fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Carmel - I love all of the mums and the gorgeous pots you have out there. Our yard has been a work in progress since we bought it two years ago. We've added outdoor furniture on our covered deck and I'm working on the walk out area around the basement - a fire pit is a new addition!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the night photography goes - it's tricky, isn't it? What kind of camera/lens are you using? I took some night shots of my home and I'm still not thrilled with them, but I pulled out a tripod, which did help some. I'm learning too. :-)
Thanks girl - I need to bring my tripod outside - I never think to do that.
DeleteI love your patio -- I'm trying to cozy up our back yard too -- we don't have a patio but we have a large deck that we decorate for the seasons. Of course, we live a further bit up north, so plants don't last as long. Your entire home is such an inspiration. I find myself wandering from room to room now thinking of what I could do!
ReplyDeleteLOVE ur space! - just found ur blog!!! - i'll be back often - ANY CASE - we always say we are going to get landscaping done but then another expense comes up and it goes on the backburner - 1 day!

ReplyDeleteYou planted that caterpillar there, didn't you!? Hehe. He's cute, as is the whole display! Makes me long for the day when the hubs and I are done living in a basement apartment. :)
ReplyDeleteHa - it totally looks like I did huh?!

ReplyDeleteLove your patio, Patios are really an extension of your home and can become the perfect outdoor room, blurring the lines between indoors and out.
ReplyDeleteI said it on Instagram last night, but I'll say it again....Your back patio is so cute!! :) Love all the touches of fall going on back there! I haven't done anything to our back patio, but maybe I will this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration!
