An Unexpected Source For 96 Inch Curtain Panels

I was walking through Hobby Lobby a couple weeks ago and these caught my eye.

What really caught my eye was the length.

And the price for these charcoal grey and cream chevron 96 inch panels wasn't too bad either - $29.99/each!   Not a bad price at all for this long length.

I brought them home to hang in the guest bedroom.  I added a little black grosgrain ribbon with my favorite no sew friend - liquid stitch.

I've only hung one so far.  I'm so lazy - totally need to get on that.

Here's a closer look.   I really love them.

Have you found any unexpected sources for long curtain panels?  Why doesn't every store sell panels that come in a 96 inch length?  The 84 inchers are almost never long enough!

  2. I saw those and thought, wow, way to step it up Hobby Lobby! I got a silver sequined pillow cover there over the holidays for only $7. I can usually find 96" panels at Home Goods, Marshalls, or TJ Maxx too. xo Kristin

  3. Jordan and I were impressed with those curtain panels, too. I just painted our master bedroom a softer shade yesterday and now might add some of these. I'll line them first, though.

  4. I saw those too! I was so pumped! Target.com has a bunch and World Market does too (well sometimes). I don't get why more "big box" stores aren't carrying 96 inch ones because like you said, 84 is never long enough!!

  9. Seriously this post came at the PERFECT time! Im in the middle of redoing our guest room and was just wondering what I was going to do about affordable curtains. I think I'll have to check out HoLo now. Plus when you factor in the coupon they become even more affordable. Thanks for sharing.

  11. Please share the instructions on using liquid starch to attached ribbon.I am wanting to add ribbon to my panels, but I have no sewing skills and I want to be able to change out the ribbon. Thank you!

    1. Liquid Stitch is just glue. Although it's pretty permanent - and can be washed. I used it a lot in college to hem pants because I'm so short and can't sew a straight line to save my life. ;) I have used a glue gun to attach ribbon before - and if you use one with a low heat temperature setting you can remove the ribbon later on without damaging the fabric but there will be a little glue residue left behind. Hope this helped!

  12. Love those! I usually find some at HomeGoods or I just suck it up and pay retail at ZGallerie or Restoration Hardware. (I know, very un-blogger of me).

  13. I love these! I have the same problem with the shorter length. One panel is BARELY flirting with the floors...it's so annoying! I may have to recycle the old ones and make my own.

  14. I just saw those the other day but didn't have time to really look closer, now I might need to head there tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up, did you use your 40% off coupon? :)

  18. I'm so obsessed with this whole aisle. I have to stay away or I'll leave with 20 pillow covers and a house full of curtains in one trip.

  19. There are so many curtains varieties in the market. Its very hard job to select the right curtains. But your curtains are very simple in design and looking very nice.

  20. Love your new panels. I do not have a Hobby Lock in my area. However, Ikea has long panels also....I like that you added the ribbon...very classy....

  23. I absolutely LOVE Hobby Lobby. When I lived in Atlanta, there was one across the street from my children's school, so I was in there all the time. Now we live up north and the closest one is in Pittsburgh (an hour & a half away). Anytime I need to go to the P'burgh airport, you can bet I factor in some extra time for a stop in Hobby Lobby!

I may need to make a special trip to Pburgh for these---did you notice if they had any other colors?? Also, they don't seem to be lined--are they substantial enough to provide privacy when closed, or do you have bamboo blinds or something else behind them?

    1. So funny I used to live in Pittsburgh! These are not lined and have the look of a burlap - but without the smell. You could line them or just clip a solid white panel on the back with drapery clips. I have blinds on this window so I like the sheer breezy look. It gives them a nice casual look with the light filtering through. Not sure on the other colors - one reader mentioned green - I didn't even notice the other colors - I was so focused on grabbing these before someone else did ;)

  26. Does anyone happen to know the brand name on those curtains? I would love some chevron curtains for my bedroom, but we don't have a Hobby Lobby here:(

  27. I picked these up when the curtains were 50% off so they were $16.xx each. Just like everything else at Hobby Lobby, they run that sale every month or so, just keep your eye out for it. Also the other colors they had at mine were green chevron, brown chevron, and blue chevron. Sally
