This image in the January issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine totally caught my eye. I loved the way the soft pink sheets looked against the dark navy walls. It seemed like the perfect combination of masculine and feminine.
I popped in to check out Macy's linens sale last week and found something I just had to bring home with me.
It's such a fun way to play with color. Once I had them on the bed I wondered why I hadn't ever thought to buy pink sheets before? Now even the sight of my unmade bed puts a giant smile on my face.
Have you been playing with any new colors in your home?

I'm sitting here at my desk looking at my new graphic navy/cream slipper chair along side my hot pink lamp! Right there with ya sister!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your bedroom - those drapes are FAB! I swear, I will never tire of navy - such a versatile, classic color.
I love the pink and navy without being nautical. You have pulled it together quite well! What really caught my eye was the bed. I'm in love. Would you mind sharing how and where you acquired it? I've been looking for a while with no success.
ReplyDeleteHere's an important question...would you have bought the Martha Stewart sheets at JCP instead of Macy's? Just kidding...couldn't resist since she's been all over the news this morning for going behind Macy's back and signing a deal with JCP. Anyway, the pink looks great! I'm adding some in to my living room as well. So fun for spring!
ReplyDeleteHa! Hadn't even heard about all that!
Deletei love the soft touch! when we were painting our room navy i considered it as the accent color- navy, turquoise/teal, and pink... i loved the idea, but i knew chris wouldn't. :) i have got him buying my pink tulips once a week though, so that's fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI kind of wish the girl would have let me do pink with navy in her room - but she insisted on turquoise. Maybe I can sneak in some navy - or better yet some red! ;)
DeleteVery cute! Does your husband mind?
ReplyDeleteI've always loved navy and pink. What a great Spring pick me up to add!
ReplyDeleteI love the addition of pink!
ReplyDeleteNavy and pink have always been one of my favorite combos. I think I need prettier sheets so I can stand the look of my (often) unmade bed!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink with the dark blue! That's a gorgeous pairing!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have ever thought to pair the two like that, but it looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI also loooove the bedspread, just stunning! My husband is a shift worker and has been asking if he can paint the bedroom a dark colour, specifically navy, I'm going to show this to him for inspiration. Very classic, the pink doesn't read girly at all.
ReplyDeleteCarmel, I know it's all about the sheets, but would you mind sharing what brand/colour swatch of paint this is? Seriously, finding the right blue could go very wrong, and I fell in love with this colour, please and thank you!

I never would have thought pink with navy but it looks great. Even a bright pink would look nice (maybe I can convince my girl to do that!). We just moved a few weeks ago so we've been doing LOTS of color. Just painted the boy's room Sunshine yellow (scariest decision I've made in my life but love it) and getting ready to add red stripes in the kitchen. Lots of painting furniture too!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I could use some pale pink sheets in our room. hmmm! Love.
ReplyDeleteYes< I think this color combo would work well in a shared bathroom too.
ReplyDeleteLove the pink and navy together..
ReplyDeleteI had to have a lil pink in our master bedroom too.. :0)
We have a light shade of gray for our wall color, white woodwork, and black/white damask linens.
So I popped it by using a fun pink throw pillow in the mix of them..
just had to! :0)
Love the pink addition, Carmel! I think playing with color is so fun :) Need to hit up Macy's!
ReplyDeleteNow you have me thinking why I never thought about pink sheets? They look fabulous in your room!
ReplyDeleteI do love the pink and navy! I'm working coral into my guest room. I'm excited about it!
