I've always believed in the power of fabulous sheets, so it should come as no surprise that I gifted myself a new set of sheets (thanks Pottery Barn) for my upcoming birthday.
They're leopard and I love them! Getting old has its perks I guess.
It's amazing to me how something as simple as a new set of sheets can rekindle your love affair with your bedroom.
I'm also hoping these new sheets help me to start getting to bed earlier. I've always been a night owl - always, so getting to bed early doesn't come naturally at all. But in my quest to live a paleo lifestyle I've started to realize more and more just how important getting more sleep is in relation to your overall health and well being.
It's so hard for me though, especially as a diy blogger. I typically do projects and photograph things during the day while my kids are at school. Then I do my after school mom duties - dinner, extra-curricular activities, homework, bed. Then once my kids are in bed I edit photos and write posts. I don't typically get into bed until midnight and then I'm up the next morning at 6:30 am. By the time Friday night rolls around I'm exhausted, and Saturdays are so busy there's hardly time to sleep in. Sunday after church I spend most of my time preparing for the week ahead. So I'm in the middle of figuring out how to rearrange my schedule in order to get to more sleep.
I think the first step is realizing that you need to make getting more sleep a priority, but new sheets can't hurt right? What time do you get to bed at night? Are you a night owl or an early bird?
