Project “my home office” is steadily, albeit the steady pace of a turtle, making it’s way to the finish line. When last we checked in on progress, the walls were painted and I was debating between paint swatches on the sideboard. Thought I’m not that far ahead, with just 2 more players in place the room is starting to take shape.
The Curtains Are Up!
Holy crazy difference! The curtains made this space feel so much more…..I don’t know what word to use…..but “grown-up” keeps coming to mind. The black background with green fern leaf brings a bit of a coastal vibe against the pale pink walls. Yet it also adds some drama to the space. I’m glad I went with the fern leaf pattern as opposed to the palm print I debated. It’s a little less trendy but still drives home that pink and green combo I love so much.
And I basically die over these lucite curtain rods and brass rings!
And The Rug Is Here Too!
The rug is in place now too, and I’ve been playing around with the arrangement of the gallery wall I’m planning to hang above the sideboard. Although even with the curtains and rug in play, I’m still debating paint swatches for the sideboard. I’ve eliminated red as an option as I feel like there’s enough happening in here with color. I think a bold red will take away from the art I’m hanging.
So now it’s down to white, dark green or light green. I’m also considering not painting it at all as with the rug in place the wood tones are broken up just enough. I’m still leaning towards painting because this piece feels really heavy, and I think it draws the eye away from the beauty of the desk. What are your thoughts? Clearly I’m not afraid to make bold design moves. So if you’ve got an idea I haven’t considered, throw it at me!
