apple Our Fifth House: house tour

house tour

Our fifth house is not completely tour ready yet, but here's a look at our work in progress.

The entry foyer

They say first impressions are lasting so we wanted our entry foyer to really make a statement.  I used Magnetic Primer & Chalkboard Paint to create a welcome sign that is easily changeable with the seasons/holidays.

Check here for the deets on hanging art that's meaningful and letting your walls tell your story.

This is our Entry Foyer Drop Spot that I created for guests since we don't have a coat closet near-by.

After we had our front door painted black, I wondered why we didn't do it sooner!

This room has been through a major transformation. Check here and here for all the deets on how I stenciled an ikat pattern on the wall.   For a recap of all the projects completed in this room check here.

I've recently made a small change to this room by adding in some new art via these inexpensive mirrors-turned-chalkboard-panels.

The family room - before

Sorry for the poor quality pics.  These were the only before shots we took, and they were taken on a phone.

The family room - in progress

I white washed the brick fireplace and stenciled some drop cloths to create curtain panels.  You can get the deets on the black interior doors here and the rug here.

Red is my favorite color.  Is it that obvious?

tone on tone stripes

I painted stripes on the wall in this little hallway to break up all the red and add a fun focal point.

All the deets about how we turned a giant mud/gravel pit into a patio area with a fire pit can be found here.

That's it for now!  More transformations will be coming soon!  We hope anyway!
