Christmas Home Tour – 2016

Today I’m participating in a virtual Christmas home tour hosted by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life!  If you’re visiting from the previous stop at Jennifer’s home (Dimples & Tangles), welcome!  I just love Jennifer’s fun, colorful holiday style!

What’s not to love about going on a Christmas home tour without having to get off the couch………or even get dressed!  Whether you’re popping in during coffee or wine time, I’m glad you’re here!  Grab another cup or glass and come on in!

Welcome to my holiday home!

Christmas Exterior Decor

I’ve already shared my front exterior, screen porch and family room all decked out for the holidays.  So today I’m sharing a look at the Christmas decor in my main living areas.

My Christmas decorating mantra is “keep it simple”.  I like sprinkling a little holiday spirit throughout my home utilizing fresh, natural elements.  I’m all about creating a festive look in my home that doesn’t feel like a tremendous task to dismantle when the holidays are over.  Everyone in my family likes to help decorate, but volunteers are scarce when the shindig is over.  😉

(peacoat- similar, scarf, similar plaid rain boots, mini boxwood wreath)

I fell hard for the mini boxwood wreaths at Target this year.  How sweet are they?!

I’m also a big fan of pink poinsettias.

Open Kitchen & Dining Room

I didn’t do much in the kitchen and dining room, just popped in a mini-poinsettia and mini-boxwood.  Apparently I’m having a moment with miniatures.

I love hanging a wreath on a mirror.

How fun are those little stir sticks I picked up in the dollar spot at Target?!

Living Room

I used a mix of fresh and faux greenery on the mantel.   Since I do a faux Christmas tree I like to bring in fresh evergreen garland for that signature Christmas fragrance.

When in doubt, put a wreath on it right?  I can never pass up the fresh boxwoods at Trader Joe’s.

While the living room tree sports a theme, the family room tree holds all of our keepsake and handmade treasures.  Having two trees in the house this year just adds to the magic.  This is our second Christmas in this home.  Since we had just barely finished unpacking before the holidays hit last year, this Christmas feels really special.

Thanks so much for checking out my holiday home!  Be sure to stop by Chelsea’s (Making Home Base) tomorrow for a continuation of this virtual Christmas home tour!  She has such great style!  I can’t wait to see more of her Christmas decor!

  • Love your living room and love your red and blush tree, so pretty. Adding the fresh greenery to the mantel is a great way to bring in the scent of Christmas, I need to remember that trick. Your home looks so beautifully dressed for the Holiday. Thanks so much for joining the tours.

  • Your home is beautiful! Simple but quite elegant. I love the “No Whining” sign!! I need that in my house. I read that you live in Charleston. One of my favorite cities to visit. Merry Christmas! ~Linda

  • Love your home! Thanks for sharing! You are so creative and I love to see the ideas you come up with-very inspiring. Love the dollar spot at Target. My favorite! My daughter and I snagged a red plaid blanket scarf there for $7. We cut it in half and she used one as a tree skirt for her dorm tree and the other to wear:)

  • So pretty, Carmel! I love your tree – the colors are so fun! The thing that really caught my eye was that fun print with the “absolutely no frowning” I NEED THAT!
